In case of great financial difficulties, you can subscribe to the non-refundable loan, exceptional financial assistance from CAF and please contact us to find out more. With the support of the EU and UNICEF the allowance fund (CAF) provides family scholarships to all families around the world and in particular to
citizens from EU countries. This scholarship is granted to families taking into account their marital status in order to enable them to meet their needs and those of their family in general and the education of their children in particular.
According to Article L. 512-1 of the Social Security Code, "Any French or foreign person residing in France, having one or more children residing in the EU, is entitled to family benefits for these children.

If your child is in school, you may be eligible for a scholarship! Here are the main aids intended for families with average or modest incomes.

Back-to-school allowance
Many parents receive the back-to-school allowance (ARS) each year during the back-to-school period, in August and September. To be entitled to it, your child must be between 6 and 18 years old (the ARS therefore concerns children attending school from CP to Terminale) and your income must not exceed certain ceilings.

college scholarship
If you have a child in college, you may be eligible for a college scholarship. This aid is intended for low-income families. The applicable ceilings are lower than those set for the ARS.

high school scholarship
Similarly, if you have a child in high school, you may be eligible for a high school scholarship if your income does not exceed the high school scholarship scale.

Primary school
There is no national aid such as college and high school scholarships for a child in primary school (from CP to CM2). But your department or your municipality may be able to pay you a scholarship...

School attendance
Some departments pay a “school attendance grant” to children whose school is more than 3 km from the family home. This is not aid paid in all departments and the conditions for obtaining it may vary from one department to another.

Communal scholarship
In addition, some municipalities grant a municipal scholarship to children enrolled in their town's school and whose parents have modest incomes. To find out if you are eligible, contact your town hall.

Student scholarship
When your child leaves high school to become a student, he may request the granting of a student grant paid on social criteria.

As its name suggests, “Bourse Famille” is a system of allowances for the most disadvantaged families. To qualify for this assistance, families must meet a number of criteria. For example, they must:

Keeping their children of school age in the education system,
Be up to date with the vaccination schedule,
Participate in nutritional orientation activities,
Participate in literacy programs and vocational training courses.
These criteria have been reviewed several times, relaxed, then tightened again… Ultimately, this program concerns families living in extreme poverty as well as disadvantaged and very disadvantaged families with children between 0 and 16 years old. Today, 91 million families benefit from it. After 4 years of operation of "Bourse Famille", it would seem that the first positive effects are appearing. For example, specialists speak of a observed drop in infant mortality among beneficiary families.
